I’ve had a similar issue with my Tucson hybrid ( not plug in ) I get the one or 2 second hesitation when trying to accelerate quickly to overtake, it is always while the engine takes over from the battery, I had a test drive in the j7 phev and tried the same manoeuvre on the motorway and had no trouble it just took off, I couldn’t tell if it was just on battery or if the engine kicked in.
