Worth it?
Posted by Rhys on 4 September 2025 at 14:24Hi all
Before I consider purchasing such an unknown vehicle in the market, I’m eager to understand what current owners make of the Jaecoo and whether it’s worth it?
Thanks

Hi Rhys,
I’ve had my Jaecoo 7 Luxury AWD for just over one month now and covered 1,000 miles. I love the car. it’s a proper “looker” and draws stares regularly. I have it in Basalt Black, which I didn’t realize was actually metallic until I purchased it (showroom didn’t have it in Black – as it’s an “Extra” @£500). This car is a discovery, with all it’s driver aids and clever tech. I’m a mature Gent and some of the alerts aren’t my bag. No probs – I just disable them (some need disabling each time you start the car – but it’s a simple swipe and tap function). It drives fabulous. I use Eco mode driving around the narrow country lanes where I live in Scotland, then simply rotate the Mode dial to Normal when I’m back onto A-roads and Motorway. Then, of course, I have numerous other modes, such as Sport/Mud/Sand/Snow/Off-Road. This car is incredibly quiet – even as the 1.6 all Petrol model (no SHS/PHEV). I could go on much longer, suffice to say – ZERO regrets about my purchase. The PCP deals are incredible BTW!
Final point I will make (if you are UK/Europe) – take note of how the initially negative “expert” reviews are now swinging dramatically toward positive (like they did with Kia and other non-prestige brands) Spend some time on YouTube and look at the reviews from owners in Jaecoo/Omoda/Chery’s established markets (esp China and Australia). These folks know a good car from a bad one and are every bit as (if not more) demanding than UK/Euro customers IMO.
Hope that helps Rhys. Good Luck!
Will

I have the PHEV version since May25. Very happy with the choice…

I have had the PHEV model since the 02nd Sept and I’m very happy with it and despite being sceptical about hybrid vehicles in general i have to admit it’s saved me quite a bit of money.

I’ve had mine since about May I think. Pleased with mine. I mainly drive locally but work around 40 miles away, 2 days a week. I keep it charged up each night and on a full charge can get around 56miles on it, before I’m down to about 20% and the ICE takes over and starts to regen the battery. Probably doing the SHS thing. I seem to get away with only filling up with petrol once every 6 weeks. When I do, my Petrol rnage says 694 miles. It’s probably not 100% accurate in real life but can’t be too far off.
