Engine Management light
Posted by Raj on 22 March 2026 at 12:20Hi all,
Had the J7 hybrid on lease for about a month now. A couple of days engine management light came on, is there a way to check what it’s triggered on air to reset it ?

Hi Raj, there’s a recall for an issue that cites possible illumination of the the EML (my car is booked in for this issue). Although your specific issue may not be related to the recall (and I’m not sure if SHS models are included), I would get it back to the Dealer immediately. Illumination of the EML could indicate a major problem (it’s an MOT Failure!) and I wouldn’t want to take any risks.

Exact same issue . I had it in service for its first year service and I took it back home with the engine management light on . They said “it should come off soon” . I did a soft reboot and drove it a lot and still there . The performance dropped too . It doesn’t have much power . I’ll go back tomorrow and leave it with them so that it can be checked . Will update this when I find out the reason

Good grief Denis! ANY warning lights should be dealt with immediately. It is totally unacceptable that the Dealer encouraged you to drive the vehicle with an illuminated EML and, even worse, that you are driving a car with performance limiting issues. I would INSIST my car was made good/safe as a matter of urgency! In my experience – illuminated EML will remain lit until the issue is corrected. Hope you get it resolved.
