DAB radio reception
Posted by Tamd23 on 1 April 2025 at 20:14Is anyone having issues with their DAB reception? My car has recently been at the dealer to be fixed. Driving home the radio is still the same. The garage have advise there is no fix for it and asked me to take a video of it loosing reception so they can send to Jaecoo. Anyone else having this issue?
I have a 1.5 hybrid model.

This issue has been ongoing and I believe many other people have the same problem. Not sure when they’re going to fix this but hopefully there’ll be an update soon :/

Have only had awd j7 2 weeks DAB signal is very poor r thinking of taking vehicle back to franchise to see if they can sort issue out.

Apparently Jaecoo have a fix coming out for radio at the end of May. Will keep you all updated once completed.

No update yet. Hoping to hear from garage next week. Will update once received.

Guest13 July 2025 at 22:24- I bought my Jaeco 7 in March DAB Radio has never worked dealer aware and awaiting jaecoo software solution, they offered antenna swap however said it would resolve wasting mine and their time . Jaecoo were aware of issue prior launch to UK and yet new buyer not informed , I haven’t had any in car entertainment since buying only road noise . I have also raised that the voice command randomly shouts out the entering england as I drive down my road in england. I have sent email to the customer services responsible for the whole of the UK to get company status and ETA on resolution plus how they intend to compensate me , I’ll keep you posted.

I did a test drive in 2 different cars, and both had the same problem. DAB not working!
I read yesterday that some workshops tried to solve the problem with an antenna amplifier, but in vain. Same result. Everybody is hoping that the problem will be solved with a softwareupdate, but keep in mind that not everything can be solved by software.
Another problem which in not solved up to now is the wireless Apple carplay and Android auto. I’m more and more hesitating buying the Jaecoo J7. They could at least make sure that these basic things work as they should work in a € 40.000 car.

We got out J7 on Friday and the DAB is awful, constantly cutting out and won’t tune any stations. Is there any news on a fix?

Hi Chris.
My vehicle is booked in tomorrow for its 1st service and this is one of the issues I have highlighted. Will let you know what they do to fix.

Hi. Vehicle was in garage today for service, software update and DAB radio issue. The radio reception is much better and didn’t cut out on my 25mile return journey. Worth contacting the garage to get them to sort it out.

Guest30 January 2026 at 08:51Just took on my new Jaecoo 7 SHS, and agree totally, DAB signal is absolute rubbish, very scratchy and looses signal when on move…..been back, and had same response,,,,no fix as yet. now hook up via mobile phone for radio.

Also they done a software update and antenna change :-
1/ DAB signal perfect now
2/ Picking up far more channels
3/ indicators noise softened
4/ alarm with sun visor opened / fixed
5/ central locking issues fixed
6/ kareake mode added ?!?
7/ when turning left and right the surround video is now a PIP instead of full screen
8/ and this is a good one ! Now 3 diffent seat memories on the drive side !
9/ nicer locking noise
…. That’s all I’ve found so far- hope this helps 🤲

Guest4 March 2026 at 08:49Do Hatfields Jaecoo hand mine in last Friday for DAB issue, they updated SW and said that’s all they can do, the reception is a fraction better but still terrible. Instead of cutting out it just gets squeaky and volume drops in and out. They told me that’s all the SW updates completed for up to the end of 2025. The 2026 updates haven’t been released yet.
I believe there is a new EU directive that says car manufacturers can only release software updates in batches, every 6 months. This is very frustrating for a customer that may have to live with a fault for 5 months when there is a fix available for it.

Guest20 March 2026 at 21:23I have experienced reception issues with my DAB on my Jaecoo PHEV. The dealership has changed the antenna twice and are refusing to do anything further and have made many BS excuses. I have asked for a refund of my vehicle or an alternative. (Invicta Motors Ashford)*
